I believe the children are our future, let them lead the way

Friday, August 8th, 2008

Earlier this week the FFA released the draw for the new National Youth League. I’m pleased that its length is the same as that of the A-League although that does include three byes for each team, due to the fact that there is only seven teams.

Also pleasing is that the Melbourne Victory youth team will be giving the Telstra Dome a miss and playing at a variety of venues around the city. These venues are:
- Green Gully Reserve, Keilor
- Anderson Park, Doncaster
- SS Anderson Reserve, Port Melbourne
- Kingston Heath Soccer Complex, Cheltenham
- Epping Stadium, Epping

It provides a good opportunity for young fans in these areas to check out the youth team in a family friendly environment close to home. Not sure if I’ll be able to make it to a whole lot of matches due to their locations and times, but I will be hoping to pay visits to Green Gully Reserve and SS Anderson Reserve during the season. If you didn’t catch it earlier, Melbourne has also signed a number of players for its team, you can check out who they are here.
